Travel companion: Amsterdam company for the journey out of town
Amsterdammers are proud of their city and just as keen to explore beyond it: by train across the polders, by car to the coast, by plane from Schiphol. A travel companion lets you take a little of Amsterdam with you. Your companion joins you on a trip outside the city, from a day in Rotterdam to a longer stay elsewhere, and makes the travelling part as good as the arriving.
Trips are planned individually, so dates, travel, accommodation and timing are all settled on request, then set out in writing on WhatsApp before a single ticket is bought. The hourly rate from €180 applies to shorter local bookings; a journey is always quoted as a complete plan.

Our first names
Matched to travel companion from what is on their profiles. Anyone on the roster can take this booking, these are the women we put forward first.
Name one of them, or tell us the plan and let us choose. A straight answer either way.

Day trips across the Randstad
The easiest trips stay close. Rotterdam is well under an hour by fast train, with its skyline, the Erasmus Bridge and an architecture scene that surprises first-time visitors. Den Haag combines parliament buildings, embassies and a beach at Scheveningen. Utrecht, about half an hour away, has its Dom tower and cafés tucked into cellars along the old wharves. A companion can join you for the train ride, the business lunch or the walk around town, and travel back with you in the evening.

Rail, road and the view from the window
This is a country made for easy travel. Intercity trains leave Centraal and Amsterdam Zuid several times an hour, the motorways run flat and straight across reclaimed land, and within an hour or so you can be on a North Sea beach, in a medieval city centre or, in spring, among the flower fields south of Haarlem. That makes a spontaneous trip realistic. A companion who knows how the trains work, which side of the carriage has the better view of the polders and which station exit to use is quietly useful on any journey.

Longer trips and weekends away
For a weekend or more, planning matters. Tell us the destination, the travel dates, whether you go by train, car or plane, and what the days will involve: meetings, sightseeing, perhaps a wedding you would rather not attend alone. We check which companions are free for the whole period and confirm a complete arrangement in writing. Travel and accommodation for your companion are settled with you in advance, so there are no surprises at the station or the hotel.

Who makes a great travel companion
Travel reveals character quickly, so we suggest companions who are relaxed on the move. Laura is adventurous, warm and energetic, a skier and horse rider with a real passion for travel who turns a long train ride into an adventure. Nancy is sunny and easygoing, loves road trips and swimming, and is excellent company in a car with the windows down.
Nora is spirited and adventurous, adores flower markets and champagne, and arrives anywhere looking ready for a resort. Cindy, sporty and always in good spirits, sails and takes photographs, so a coastal trip or a day on the water suits her perfectly. Laura and Nora also feature among our athletic companions.

Starting from Amsterdam
Most trips begin in the city, which keeps the logistics simple. Our companions live in Amsterdam Centrum and three other central districts, so meeting at Centraal Station, Amsterdam Zuid or your hotel is straightforward. For flights, Schiphol is a short train ride away. If your trip starts somewhere else, tell us and we will work out whether your chosen companion can reach you comfortably.

Etiquette on the road
Treat a travel companion as you would a good friend on a trip. Share the plan in advance, leave some free time in the itinerary and agree how she will be introduced if you are meeting colleagues or friends. She follows your lead on discretion, whether that means being your partner at a dinner or a guest who keeps a low profile. Any change to the plan, such as an extra night or a different city, is confirmed on WhatsApp before it happens.
08 Questions
Travel companion, answered
01Can a companion travel outside the Netherlands?
Trips further afield are considered case by case, depending on the companion, the destination and the dates. Tell us your plans and we will say honestly what is possible.
02How is a travel booking priced?
Every trip is quoted as a whole, on request, and confirmed on WhatsApp before anything is booked. Local bookings in Amsterdam start from €180 per hour.
03Who books the train tickets and the hotel?
You do, in agreement with us. We confirm the arrangements for your companion ahead of time so everything is clear before departure.
04Is a day trip to Rotterdam or Den Haag possible at short notice?
Sometimes. Give us a day or two and the choice of companions is at its widest, but a same-day trip is always worth asking about.
